Chris Georgallis Seeing the World Playing for his country
They say Football is the “World Game”.
If you play it well enough, you can get to see more than most will ever do.
Chris Georgallis is finding out at an early age that if you are good enough to represent your country at just 15 years of age, you will get to see countries much sooner than most.
Next month he represents Australia’s Futsal Team in their tour of China for two weeks. He will be competing in the Jiangmen International Cup playing against teams from all over China.
Christopher’s soccer journey began in the Under 6’s with Sans Souci before moving into the Junior Development Program at Fraser Park Football Club in 2018. He played in the Under 9’s at the time.

In 2019 in the Under 10’s he came to St George FC and has been through the grades from Junior Development into Youth.
He is now in St George FC’s Under 16 Boys Youth team.
His leadership qualities were identified in 2023 when he became part of the Under 14’s captain’s group. The team reached the finals.
Christopher predominantly plays centre back, but, also as a defensive mid-fielder.
His qualities “on and off the field” were recognised when he was awarded the “inaugural Manfred Schaeffer Award”. An award presented to the player that demonstrates the values of the St George FC club.
- Respect
- Courage
- Generosity
- Responsibility
- Accountability
He continued his leadership roles in both 2024 and 2025, mainly as a centre-back.
The Futsal Journey “took off” in earnest when he represented Central Coast in the Australian Futsal Association Nationals when they won the final.
The Futsal Championships is a competition outside of school. He plays in a Futsal Competition on the Central Coast with ex-teammates and that is where he was selected to represent Central Coast.
He has been playing Futsal for four years.
The Awards and Achievements “keep coming” for the talented and likeable 15-year-old.
He is part of Matraville Sports High School Talented Sports Program and in 2024 was awarded “The Football Coaches Award” for excellence in his selected sport judged by the coaches.
Given his progress it’s likely Chris Georgallis will be seeing a lot more of the world on his football journey.
After China, subject to confirmation, it will be off to Europe for his next venture with the Australian Futsal team.
