New Signings at St George FC
St George FC has made three new signings in the recent transfer window.

The first new signing in the transfer window
Rocco Smith – Jersey Number 8
A Centre-Back from the Central Coast Mariners FC.
He turns 21 in December.
Rocco Smith was at the Central Coast Mariners FC for 19 months; he played in AFC and A-League matches.
As a 15-year-old, he travelled to Germany and played with the DFI Academy for a year before he became home-sick.
He played with Apia- Leichhardt in the Under 16’s before returning for another “stint” in Germany playing in the fourth division. It was a semi- professional league; he played just the one season.
On his return, he went back to Apia Leichhardt and played in Under 20 and First Grade.
He then went to the Central Coast Mariners FC and now to St George FC.
“I joined St George FC for the opportunity, I want to take my game to the next level, I want to better my game, Fabian is a very good coach and I really like the style of football he is implementing.”
“I really like the culture at St George FC , even in such a short time it is obviously a really good club, everyone is so supportive, friendly and helpful, I really want to contribute as much as I can.”

The second new signing in the transfer window
Gianni Di Pizzio – Jersey Number 8
A 22-year-old attacking mid-fielder joined the club from Sydney Olympic.
As a schoolboy he was part of the Westfield Sports High Football Program.
At that time, he played NPL with both Blacktown City and West Sydney Wanderers.
He played the 2024 and part of 2025 season with Sydney Olympic in the NPL.
He has been playing in the NPL since his schoolboys’ days.
He worked with St George FC Coach Fabien Miceli at West Sydney Wanderers.
“I like his approach to football.
This is a young, hungry group, something good is building here and I want to be a part of it. It fits my style of play.”
As a “seasoned NPL campaigner” he believes the NPL is much closer than previous.
“The “gap” between fourth and tenth is closer than ever, clubs have younger squads now and the players are getting used to the longer (30 game) season environment.”
‘St George FC is well placed for the changes coming with younger players now essential in all NPL squads, they have already started by building a younger squad “

The third new signing in the transfer window
Jesper Webber – Jersey Number 8
The 21-year-old is an attacking winger from the West Sydney Wanderers.
He has A League experience with Macarthur Bulls FC.
The speedy winger has both A League and NPL experience with Macarthur FC.
He received a two year A League Scholarship in 2022 and has already played in multiple Australia Cup matches. (Scholarship was with Macarthur Bulls)
He made his A League debut in 2023 against the Central Coast Mariners FC.
Before he joined Macarthur Jesper was part of the West Sydney Wanderers Academy from the age of fourteen.
At just 21 years of age, he has played in both A League and the Asian Cup.
He believes the NPL is not far behind the A League – “the difference is the sharpness- Full Time versus Part Time.”
“Playing a now 30 game season means players have to do physical training outside of their clubs’ programs to keep their body able to cope with the longer season.”
Having had a taste of the A League and Asian Cup Jesper Webber wants it again.
His ambition is to get back in to the A League and eventually go to Europe to play.
